Employee of the Year

Ms. Lillian C. Prine is the nominee selected by Eastside High School as our Employee of the Year. During three of North Central Florida's recent hurricanes, Eastside High School was established as a "Special Needs Shelter" for disabled resident of Alachua County. Mrs. Prine cooked four our school's sheltered residents who numbered between 150 and 180 per day. She always managed to provide healthy, nutritious meals three times a day, often under adverse conditions. As the school cafeteria didn't have electrical power, she utilized a two burner flat range cook top as her only heating element. She cheerfully orchestrated there supervision of the kitchen and utilized the cafeteria's food supply for the sheltered residents.

The Red Cross disbursed there prepared food which Ms. Prine and Eastside coaches would manually deliver to another building in our school where the residents were sheltered in classrooms. She cleaned up after each meal that was served and then immediately began preparation for the next. She worked tirelessly from early morning until late evening Her conscientious efforts benefited not only Eastside High School but the community as a whole.
