Parent Teacher Organization Trust Fund
The Eastside High School Trust Fund Committee is pleased to announce that we are taking applications for grant funds for the 2007-2008 school year. The source of our funds is parent contributions, and the amounts available vary from year to year. Average awards tend to be in the $100-$500 range. Listed below are policies to guide you when preparing an application.
- The PTO Trust Fund is designed to help defray the expense of attending school-related academically-oriented trips or conferences for teachers or students. Also, classroom expenses, teaching materials or class projects which will strengthen academics will be considered for Trust Fund expenditures. Grant requests which ultimately benefit the greatest number of students will receive priority consideration.
- Clubs or groups requesting funds should be clubs that support, enhance, or reflect academic subjects taught, and must have a teacher sponsor who submits the application to the Trust Fund. Scholarships for students to attend non-academic trips or camps will not be considered.
- Requests will be awarded based on the merit of the applicant/group and the availability of funds as determined by the Trust Fund committee.
- Request of funds for food or hotel registration will not be considered for Trust Fund grants. Please consider contacting a business partner or other funding sources for those needs.
- Please be reminded that the Trust Fund is intended to support activities that are beyond the scope of funding generally provided by Alachua County School Board. If your request is denied, the Trust Fund may be able to recommend other resources to consider for funding.
When requesting funds, all applications must be submitted electronically using the PTO Trust Fund Request Form. Please send your form to Maureen Marsh. You may also email any questions you may have about the application process.
