Media Center

The EHS Media Center has one of the most extensive collections of books in the state of Florida; including award winning fiction, the newest Animae books, exciting illustrated novels, as well as history books with wonderful photos. The collection totals over 21,700.

The Media Center gets 3 different newspapers daily and the first 100 students can get a free copy of the Gainesville Sun.

We have subscriptions to 48 periodicals, Teen People, Nintendo Power, as well as Newsweek, US News, and scientific journals. These can be read in comfortable easy chairs in the front section of the Media Center.

There are over 2,000 videos & DVD's to aid instruction in the classrooms as well as a multitude of equipment for teachers to check out, like: TVs, VCRs, DVD players, CD players, slide projectors, Laser Disc players & camcorders. 

Help is available for making posters, using the letter press & laminator. There is a coin-operated copier for student-use as well as two printers. Production costs 10 cents a copy for black & white, with color copies ranging from 50 cents to $1.00 on the color laser printer.

The Chess Club meets daily during lunches and we have a mini-school store for last minute needs like paper, pen, pencils, disks, etc.
